Dr. Julio Sotillo, DDS, PhD
Dr. Julio E. Sotillo earned his dental degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry concurrently with his PhD in 2012 as a fellow in the Minnesota Craniofacial Research Training Program. He completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and joined the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota as full time Clinical Assistant Professor.
During Dr. Sotillo’s graduate training, his research focused on skeletal biology and bone remodeling. His future interest includes advancing pediatric dentistry through research, teaching and clinical practice. Dr. Sotillo’s research interests include hospital dentistry, prevention and restorative dentistry, and craniofacial biology.
Dr. Sotillo takes special care in providing compassionate dentistry and creating a positive experience for all of his patients. He especially enjoys being a voice for the enhancement of oral care and seeing his patients grow with healthy smiles.
Dr. Sotillo is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Minnesota Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Minnesota Dental Association.
Outside of the office, Dr. Sotillo enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, traveling, grilling food, watching sports, and coaching his children’s soccer teams.
